New Unemployment Claims on Steady Decline

The Labor Department announced today that new unemployment claims are continuing a steady decline.

Specifically, new unemployment claims dropped 6,000. The recent drop in new claims is the forth of its kind within the last five weeks, proving to be promising news for a recovering economy.

Economist expect these claims to continue their gradual decline as the economy slowly recovers and new jobs are created and sustained.

However, 4.66 million people are still claiming unemployment benefits, showing that although we are on the road to recovery, we still have a long way to go.
