Joe Gits, CEO: Social Market Analytics, Inc. (SMA) utilizes patented machine learning and natural language processing to provide predictive data analytics in unstructured social media in real time. SMA provides analytics for the quantitative trading community at the security level in equities, FX, ETF, futures, and cryptocurrencies across trading, algorithmic execution, market making, risk, research, and indices.

SMA cleans the social media noise and converts relevant Tweets into predictive uncorrelated quantitative data feeds to drive alpha. SMA’s patent and processes opens a whole new area of Fintech big data analysis.

Gits: Quantitative and Macro Funds, Banks, and Asset Managers. Almost all trading firms are on a MNDA. Fidelity uses SMA on their Active Traders Platform and their Mobile App to drive engagement and new trades.

Gits: Five years.

Gits: Chicago, IL.

Who is your company's leadership? What kind of experience do they have?

Gits: Social Market Analytics is lead by a team of financial market professionals with extensive experience in big data analytics. In 1996, I founded Quantitative Analytics, Inc. (QAI), a market-leading provider of integrated database solutions for quantitative researchers and traders.QAI was eventually sold to Thomson Financial. Doug Hopkins, MD Head of Sales, joined from the sell side having worked in Investor Sales at Citi and Mizuho across Chicago, London, and Tokyo

Who are your investors, if any?

Gits: Privately owned. No PE or VC money.

Is there anything else Benzinga should know about your company?

Gits: Yes, SMA is scaling globally with the LSE FTSE350 going live in 4Q17 and will introduce is first non-native English language Exchanges in 2018. SMA has partnered with Barclays on structured products based solely on SMA data.
