Digging for Dimon, Part 1

The Fintech world is looking forward to the hottest event in the space this May: the Benzinga Fintech Awards. The BZ Awards is the Oscars of Fintech, and we celebrate the leaders in our field with a fun day and night in NYC. This is not your average conference filled with a weekend of stuffy panel discussions about the minutiae of banking.

At Benzinga, I’m the creative catalyst. My role is half stock market reporter, half hustler. I’m a hungry 23 year old go-getter. Currently, at Benzinga, I write stories covering the market and work on the Benzinga Fintech Awards.

I could be working on making sponsorship sales for the event, but instead, I want to make the BZ Awards the most incredible night in Fintech for you. I want to bring you an experience you will always remember and professional development that will make you more successful.

I want to put you in a room with people who can change your life.

Basically, I want you to be as hyped about the BZ Awards as I am. You will be if you join me on a quest I’m undertaking.

I want the CEO of JPMorgan Chase, Mr. Jamie Dimon, to not only attend the BZ Awards, but appear as one of the keynote speakers.

For those of you watching at home, Mr. Jamie Dimon’s the man who single-handedly engineered a 10 percent market rally last week.

JPM has made its Fintech ambitions clear after establishing a technology hub in Manhattan, implementing a user-friendly overhaul of the company’s website, and also bringing its users one of the most intuitive mobile banking apps. Bloomberg says the company will spend $3 billion on tech investments in 2016.

I want Mr. Jamie Dimon to tell the Fintech world how he has and will continue to bridge the divide between traditional finance services and Fintech. I want to learn how a 100-year-old company will continue to be a significant player in banking and lending as we move to a digital banking world, teach the millennial generation to invest for the future, and overall life lessons from an incredible leader.

There’s a lot in it for Mr. Jamie Dimon, too. The most talented pre-IPO startups in the world will be at the BZ Awards, and he can scope out the freshest crop of Fintech companies in which to invest.

I’ll be writing weekly about my work behind the scenes for the Fintech gala.

If you want to hear from him at the BZ Awards too, follow along. You can help, too!

  • Publish a post on your blog or company website covering my quest.
  • If you’re a friend, give him a call and say “Hey Jamie, this hungry startup out of Detroit knows you would make their event the Fintech gathering of the year.”

I don’t want to shame Mr. Dimon into coming. That’s not my style (and how would that even work?). But I want him to see that the world of Fintech could benefit greatly from his advice and leadership.

My CEO, Jason Raznick, and I emailed Mr. Dimon’s office not too long ago and followed up today.

I’ll do whatever it takes to make this happen. Mr. Dimon, I’ll keep digging :)
