Since acquiring Twitter for $44 billion in 2022, Elon Musk has made many changes to the social media platform. Among the biggest of which has been changing the name of the platform from Twitter to X, a decision that was met with mixed reactions.
Here’s what Ark Invest CEO and Founder Cathie Wood thinks of the rebrand and what she has to say to her haters on Twitter.
What Happened: The rebranding of Twitter to X aligns with Musk's vision to transform the platform into an "everything app," a move that also incorporates one of his favorite company names.
Although many people still call the platform Twitter and refer to messages as tweets, the name and logo have been updated. Musk is actively encouraging the adoption of this new identity.
During her recent appearance on "The Raz Report," Wood, who's a Musk supporter and Twitter investor, shared her thoughts on both the rebranding and the platform as a whole.
“It’s kind of cool, it’s like Elon cool,” Wood said, adding that she likes the rebrand and has “taken to it.”
In a previous interview with Yahoo Finance, Wood said she was excited to see what Elon would do with the platform.
“Twitter, we think, is going to give us more tools to filter out the nonsense to get right down to business.”
Ark Invest was one of the backers that provided financing for the acquisition of Twitter by Musk.
A stake in Twitter is held in the Ark Venture Fund, a closed-end fund that allows investors to put their money in private companies held in the fund.
Launched in September 2022, the Ark Venture Fund offers investors a way to invest in private companies like Discord, Anthropic, Epic Games and Twitter.

Silencing Twitter Haters: In the interview, Wood also addressed the numerous detractors on Twitter who criticize her research and stock picks.
Wood told Benzinga she doesn’t have time to read all the Twitter comments.
“The truth will win out, that’s my response to the Twitter haters,” Wood said.
The Ark Invest CEO added that no one is doing the research that her company is doing.
“The depth of our research is going to get us to the right answer before it’s going to get others to the right answer.”
Wood added that the “truth will win out for the people.”
