As a seasoned global professional with over 20 years of experience Silvia’s experience stems from global communications agencies, in-house Fortune 500 organizations, start-ups, boards and nonprofits across industries. She is an accomplished C-suite executive, entrepreneur, content and broadcast contributor, coach, adjunct professor, and a multilingual international affairs expert, who cultivates a global network of journalists, analysts, influencers, and investors.

With a distinct expertise in building global corporate profiles and thought-leadership, Silvia led rebranding, digital and content strategies, product marketing, public relations and turnarounds, while in-house for organizations such as Marsh & McLennan, Broadcast Music Inc. and Food Bank for NYC. Silvia has an extensive background in fintech, innovation and capital markets having spent over a decade in senior-level officer roles at organizations such as Nasdaq and Instinet, where she led brand-building and corporate communications strategies during IPOs, M&A’s and other strategic transactions. More recently she built a successful consulting business advising over 20 start-ups and global companies across sectors with a focus on emerging technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, trading, cloud, data and reg-tech.

While at Nasdaq from 2003-2011, Silvia served as Global Head and Vice President of the exchange’s media strategy and broadcast studio, Nasdaq MarketSite. In that role, she also led corporate communications, brand, and marketing for the exchange’s trading, listings, technology, ETF and data businesses working with closely with the executive team and

serving as an advisor to Nasdaq-listed companies. She’s responsible for securing various NYC proclamations for Nasdaq, and implementing strategies with government officials and notable figures bringing shows like CNBC’s Fast Money, NBC’s The Apprentice and TLC’s Cake Boss elevating Nasdaq’s global mainstream appeal. Silvia also managed strategic communications during Nasdaq’s IPO and for the acquisitions of Brut ECN, INET, The Philadelphia Stock Exchange, Boston Stock Exchange, and OMX Nordic Exchange to name a few. While at Nasdaq, Silvia was part of the team that led a turnaround strategy following the dotcom bubble and housing crisis of 2008, and was responsible for managing the crisis communication for the Bernie Madoff scandal.

Silvia started her career at some of the largest and most reputable communications consultancies; Edelman and Ogilvy Public Relations, within their Corporate/Financial Communications/IR Practices, where she advised blue-chip companies.

She has received various industry accolades throughout her career such as the Markets Media’s “Women in Finance” in 2018 for “Excellence in Communications, Marketing and Reputation Management” and was named to the “Women in Fintech Power List 2017” by Innovate Finance, an independent association that represents the UK’s global FinTech community.

Currently, Silvia serves on the Board of Directors of national nonprofit Tuesday’s Children, and is on various advisory committees such as the Museum of American Finance (MOAF). She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Arts and Media and honors minor in Business and Liberal Arts from Queens College, CUNY. She has completed Executive Leadership Education programs from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania on Strategic Persuasion, Negotiation, and the Art and Science of Selling Ideas. Born and raised in NYC, Silvia is a multilingual professional, fluent in both Spanish and Italian, and has studied Modern Greek, French and Portuguese. Silvia has also served as an Adjunct Professor in the Dept. of Journalism, Media Studies, and Public Relations at Hofstra University.
