James Whitcomb has a decade of experience in corporate finance, M&A, and restructuring. As Executive Director of Corporate Development and M&A, James supports Beau Wrigley directly in all elements of business strategy and growth, and is responsible for driving key partnerships, sophisticated regulatory M&A, legal, real estate, new territory expansion, and overall capital allocation as we expand our brands globally. James is also a member of Parallel’s Board of Directors.

James joined Parallel as its first Chief Financial Officer in 2016, a role he held until 2019, and helped stand up Parallel’s first regulated businesses. He has played a pivotal role in establishing Parallel and raising $350 million in funding to date, and was a lead architect in multiple mergers and acquisitions and partnership deals that have fueled the company’s growth. Prior to Parallel, James worked in Mergers & Acquisitions and Restructuring groups at Perella Weinberg Partners, an investment bank in New York, where he executed over $22 billion in transactions across multiple industries. He began his career with Dory Ventures, a brand-focused family investment office, where he was a turnaround consultant for portfolio companies and spent extensive time in China on manufacturing assignments. James received his BA from the University of Virginia and his MBA from Columbia Business School.
