Travis is Managing Partner of Pelorus and sits on the credit committee responsible for the origination of new loans and new equity/debt investments.    

 

Travis has over 15 years of experience in commercial real estate investing across the capital stack, including debt and equity investments.  Debt market experience includes distressed debt investing in both the US and Europe, new loan origination, CMBS bond trading/investment, and synthetic credit index trading.  Travis’ equity investment background includes all CRE asset classes, distressed mall acquisitions, and seeding two early-stage cannabis sale-leaseback REITs.  

Most recently, Travis founded TG Capital Advisors, which focuses on distressed debt advisory across the capital structure, including advising on over $1 billion in distressed commercial real estate debt.  Before founding TG Capital Advisors, Travis started a special situations investment group within Harbor Group International, focusing on distressed retail and cannabis real estate.  While at Harbor Group, Travis was a key investor in two early-stage Cannabis sale-leaseback REITS, Green Acreage and Treehouse. He deployed over $50MM in equity across these strategies.  

 

Prior to Harbor Group, Travis was a commercial real estate credit trader/investor at MKP Capital, a $4 billion credit-focused hedge fund in New York, where he oversaw a $300MM+ CMBS and $500MM in Mezzanine Loan portfolio. The portfolio consisted of investing in controlling lender positions, both performing and distressed.  He was responsible for sourcing and executing on investing strategies across credit products focusing on US and Europe.  In his role, he was the key decision-maker on investing in performing high yield credit and over $400MM+ in distressed loan workouts, foreclosures, and modifications. 

 

During the Great Financial Crises, Travis was a Vice President at LNR Partners (a subsidiary of Starwood Property Trust NYSE:SWTD), one of the largest CMBS special servicers and CMBS B-piece buyers. While at LNR he resolved over 100 distressed Loans in 20+ states totaling over $2 Billion, including successfully negotiating over $700MM of loan modifications on some of the largest loans in the CMBS universe.  In addition, he was involved in underwriting loans for CMBS B-Piece acquisitions.  

 

Travis holds a Masters in Real Estate Finance from Texas A&M University Mays Business School and a B.A in Mass Communication from Texas State University.
