Maureen Meehan, Benzinga’s cannabis editor, is a 20-year veteran journalist who worked in Latin America for NBC Radio & TV and various newspapers, to whom she reported from nearly every country on the continent. Meehan also spent a decade between Spain and the Middle East freelancing for U.S., Canadian and European outlets. She moved back to New York City in 2013 and began writing for High Times magazine and various outlets. After covering numerous wars around the world, Meehan finds the War on Drugs among the most perplexing, devastating and misguided.
