Margot M. Micallef, Q.C. was inspired to build GABY Inc. after experiencing her late sister Gabriella’s brave battle with cancer and the tremendous relief she found through cannabis.

Prior to launching GABY, Margot directly and indirectly invested in several retail businesses in diverse industries such as broadcasting and food service, which earned her a reputation for returning robust ROI to investors. Margot has also served as an Adjunct Professor in governance and ethics for the University of Alberta, was a co-instructor for the Faculty of Law at the University of British Columbia, a Senior Vice-President at one of Canada’s leading telecommunications companies and practiced law with one of Canada’s oldest and most prestigious law firms.

Margot has been the recipient of numerous business awards and recognition, including being named as one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women, a Woman of the Year by the Canadian Women in Communications, and an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award Finalist.

She enjoys the outdoors and a number of sports, including skiing, cycling, boxing and bodybuilding (where she won a 1st and a 2nd place title in two regional competitions).
