Laura Monn Ginsburg

Partner and Principal

Blunt Strategies

Laura Monn Ginsburg combines her knowledge of strategic communications, organizational development, entrepreneurship and marketing to help business leaders navigate the tightly regulated cannabis and hemp industries. Her public affairs acumen was a critical factor in the successful MN is Ready campaign that culminated in 2023 legislative approval of adult-use cannabis for Minnesota. At Blunt Strategies—Minnesota’s first strategic consultancy exclusively for the cannabis industry—she developed a comprehensive suite of business services including government relations, strategic communications and digital impact. As the “go to” consultancy for new and growing cannabis businesses, she and her colleagues strive to shape the market in a conscientious manner to the benefit of all Minnesotans.

Laura is also founding partner and principal at Apparatus, a women-owned, women-run public affairs General Benefit Corporation that works to advance social justice, equity and environmental sustainability. Her background includes a decade as a marketing strategist for software companies, from startups to billion-dollar multinational firms. She serves as board chair of National Council of Jewish Women, Inc., based in Washington, DC, and previously served as chair of NCJW’s Minnesota affiliate. She is a board member of the Citizens League (2021 chair; 2020 interim executive director) and the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce. Laura is also an advisory board member of Love Takes Root and Move Minneapolis, and a past board chair of the Junior League of Minneapolis.

A graduate of Carleton College, Laura lives in Minneapolis with her husband, son and two dogs.
