Carlos “Los” Arias, J.D.

Co-Founder & CEO

Green Horizons

A graduate of Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, Los began his career in regulated cannabis in Colorado as one of the owners of RiverRock.

RiverRock is one of Colorado’s founding cannabis companies (est. 2009) and currently operates two medical and recreational dispensaries in Denver. During this tenure, Los honed his commercial cultivation best practices and retail chops. RiverRock offers a full range of flower, creams, shatter, wax, oils, edibles, vaporization cartridges and other cannabis-infused products.

With the advent of Proposition 64 in California, Los focused next upon the largest cannabis market in the world in launching operations in the Coachella Valley. In aligning with Michael Meade, Los raised $8.5M from a single family office in Latin America to fund the real estate purchase and build out of a 20,000 sq. ft. craft indoor cultivation facility in Cathedral City, branded as Desert Horizon.

Los oversaw the respective local and state licensing processes, successfully procuring local licensure from Cathedral City, and a state annual license from CalCannabis Cultivation Licensing, a division of the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA). Desert Horizon’s finished flower is regarded as some of the finest in the state, with contractual commitments from top brands and distribution companies that pay a premium above fair market value.

Los and Michael then embarked to execute their vision for scale in the Coachella Valley, founding M.L.A. Horizon, Inc., and partnering with Tommy Hilfiger to launch 1,000,000 sq. ft. of supply chain infrastructure. Leveraging his rolodex of personal relationships in the industry, Los spearheaded the company’s off-take agreements with HERBL and Posibl Project, having negotiated for contractual flexibility to retain whatever portion of Green Horizons’ flower is necessary to support the company’s in-house brand.
