On August 29th, US President Barack Obama nominated Alan Krueger – a Princeton University labor economist – to fill the recently vacated head position for the White House Council of Economic Advisors. Previously, the position was held by Austan Goolsbee, who returned last month to the University of Chicago to teach. The move has some in the markets wondering whether or not Krueger has enough experience – or tenacity – to help turn things around. But, one thing it does indicate is the likelihood that more USD stimulus is on the way for the world's largest economy.
