Hydraulic fracturing, or "fracking" as it's commonly known as, is one of the most controversial topics around, as some believe that it causes contamination in drinking water, which is why many states have banned it or have a partial ban on it. News came out earlier today that New York was considering reversing its course, and partially allow fracking to resume in the state. The New York Times cited anonymous sources close to the situation. Governor Andrew Cuomo is considering allowing fracking to occur in the state, except in areas that supply drinking water to New York City and Syracuse. Tomorrow the New York Department of Environmental Conservation is set to release a study on hydraulic fracturing.
