Secular Shift To Online Shopping To Benefit AMZN, GSIC, VPRT, NILE, NFLX

Share:

Analysts at Cowen and Co say that the transition from offline shopping towards online purchasing is accelerating, with traditional retailers closing shops or reducing their inventory in an attempt to enhance profitability.

This is “an acceleration of a secular trend, not a cyclical trend that will reverse as we exit the recession,” the analysts say. The main beneficiaries of this transition are Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) and GSI Commerce (NASDAQ: GSIC). Others to benefit are Blue Nile (NASDAQ: NILE), Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) and Vistaprint (NASDAQ: VPRT). Cowen and Co has an “outperform” rating on AMZN, GSIC and VPRT and a “neutral” rating on NILE and NFLX.
