William Blair’s Bhavan Suri believes Mulesoft Inc (NYSE: MULE)'s “Anypoint Platform offers one of the broadest functionality stacks of any vendor.” The analyst continued, stating the belief that the platform “ranks among the top solutions within the fastest-growing market segments, including integration platform-as-a-service (iPaaS) and API management.”

Suri maintains an Outperform rating on the company.

Disruptor

Calling MuleSoft a “leading innovator disrupting the integration market,” Suri mentioned that the company’s strategy of combining an innovative API-centric vision with a unified, enterprise-grade platform has proven highly disruption for the legacy vendors that currently have over 60 percent market share.

So far, MuleSoft has attracted more than 1,000 enterprise customers, as well as meaningful industry mindshare.

Well Positioned

“We believe MuleSoft is positioned to be a direct beneficiary of major technology forces that are fundamentally reshaping the enterprise IT landscape, including secular adoption of mobile devices, social media, cloud technologies, big data platforms, and Internet of Things devices,” Suri stated.

The analyst pointed out that companies were heavily investing in such technologies, which has created a huge need for solutions that would make connecting these technologies simple, replicable and cost effective.

Suri believes as a “leading innovator” in this strategically vital category, MuleSoft is well positioned to benefit from favorable spending trends that are expected to persist for several years.

Market Share Gains

“MuleSoft is capturing share across most segments of the integration market. In total, these markets are expected to grow from $8.1 billion in 2017 to $11.2 billion in 2020, and our bottomup analysis points to a longer-term opportunity of almost $20 billion,” the analyst went on to say.

Suri believes there is potential for the company’s innovative “API-centric approach” to help MuleSoft capture market share.
