In a report published Tuesday, JPMorgan analyst Rod Hall maintained an Overweight rating on
Apple Inc.
AAPL
. In the report JPMorgan noted, "The current iOS 9 beta contains references to a collection of unreleased products and features, including the next-generation Apple TV, the "iPad Pro," and new options in Photos, according to a noted iOS developer. The Apple TV is mentioned in both UIKit and GameKit, interface and multiplayer gaming frameworks normally oriented towards iPhones and iPads, developer Steve Troughton-Smith observed." Analyst Rod Hall said that the iOS 9 seems to have an even larger iPad keyboard. The keyboard supports a shortcut bar as well as things like Tab and Caps Lock keys. Moreover, it has an extra row devoted to characters like exclamation marks and parentheses. "We see these hints in the new OS as confirmation of our AppleTV console gaming which contributes to about 3% of EPS upside we estimate in our pre-WWDC report. We also flagged that changes to iOS9 make the iPad a much better laptop replacement – these additional updates would enhance that and support our iAnywhere thesis," Hall wrote. While saying that the impact of what is revealed by the iOS 9 code is positive, Hall added that news of Apple paying out more than 70 percent of the revenue it earns from its new streaming music service would have a neutral impact.
