Trip Chowdhry Talks About Apple Watch Problems & Prospects, Successful & Unsuccessful Apps

Global Equities Research released a report about Apple Inc. AAPL, the fixing of slow app loading times on the Apple Watch and their impressions after attending a couple of iOS Watch Kit developer community events.

According to the note, “Apple WWDC' 2015, June 08 to June 12, will be a significant catalyst for the AAPL stock ....developers expect AAPL to release a new Apple WatchKit SDK, which could allow developers to directly access Watch sensors. This will lead to a creation of new Untethered Apple Watch Apps.”

In an email sent to subscribers, Trip Chowdhry answered a few questions regarding the report and some recent developments.

According to the expert, App load time is reduced by more than 50 percent (based on Orbitz Apple Watch App’s case) using the "Shared Container" and the new Apple Design Guidelines. “Orbitz was able to complete the modifications and publish the modified App on App Store within 48 hours. So, once the developer knows, what needs to be done, the effort is not much to fix the load times,” he explains.

Chowdhry then goes into successful and unsuccessful Apple Watch Apps. Carrot has 2 cool Apple Watch apps - Carrot Fit and Carrot Weather - seems like "Carrot Fit" and "7 Minute workout" are really cool and we are seeing some strong initial adoption of these Watch Apps.”

He also mentions “Hotel Tonight," which “shows hotel rooms around you that you can immediately book from your Apple Watch.”
On the opposite sidewalks, both Twitter Inc TWTR and Flipboard have got it wrong, the analysts says. “They are presenting paragraphs of content, which is not fit to be consumed on Apple Watch screen. Both Twitter and Flipboard will need to rethink their Apple Watch Strategy. We have observed, some consumers uninstalling Twitter from their Apple Watch.”

Despite the complications, Chowdhry assures his firm is as bullish on the Apple Watch as it used to be. “Apple Watch will be the most addictive device ever created. Apple watch is production constrained not demand constrained,” he concludes.
