Top 5 Analyst Stories Of The Week

1. Apple Inc.'s (NASDAQ: AAPL) "Spring Forward" Media Event is scheduled for Monday, March 9 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco at 10 a.m. PT. All eyes are on Apple Watch. JP Morgan analysts said that they "would be particularly interested" if a new MacBook Air would make use of the A8X chip instead of an Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) chip that would support its "iAnywhere" thesis. Analysts at various firms, including JP Morgan, predict the event will bring an updated Apple TV.

2. Lumber Liquidators Holdings Inc (NYSE: LL) appears to be headed for bankruptcy in the wake of revelations that its flooring may fails to meet formaldehyde emissions standards, a short seller said Monday. The company will get swamped by demands that it replace flooring, administer indoor air quality tests and pay medical bills for any customer with disease associated with formaldehyde, according to hedge fund manager Whitney Tilson.

3. Sunday's 60 Minutes piece featuring Lumber Liquidators Holdings Inc (NYSE: LL) was "UNBELIEVABLE!" said an email sent to investors and Benzinga. In the email, hedge fund manager Whitney Tilson commented, "I am in awe of the investigative journalism 60 Minutes did, which validated my decision to bring the story to them. They uncovered many things I didn't know and I am now even more convinced that this stock is a zero."

4. JMP Securities analysts maintained a Market Outperform rating on GoPro Inc (NASDAQ: GPRO), with a price target of $105. The analysts cited Ambarella Inc's (NASDAQ: AMBA) latest earnings report as cause to turn more bullish on the stock. JMP identified several catalysts moving forward, including Hero4+ upgrade cycle, a cloud platform introduction, and expansion of GoPro's ability to harness new media opportunities.

5. Nomura analyst Romit Shah downgraded shares of Micron Technology, Inc. (NYSE: MU) from Buy to Neutral, while reducing the price target from $40 to $30. Shah noted that Micron has lost a couple hundred basis points of share. "Micron is undershipping demand in DRAM, as technology migrations limit supply output," Shah wrote.
