A Peek Into The Market At The Start Of The Trading Day

US stock index futures rose sharply today as strong results by several companies boosted market sentiments. While futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 53 points to 10510, those on the S&P 500 added 6 points to 1115.50. Meanwhile, Nasdaq 100 futures moved up 9.25 points to 1896.70.

Positive sentiments ruled in most European markets, with STOXX Europe 600 Index advancing 0.92% and London’s FTSE 100 Index moved up 0.94%. Asian markets ended mixed today, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average losing 0.07% and China's Shanghai Composite falling 0.52%. However, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moved up 0.21%.

Analysts at Deutsche Bank maintained their Buy rating on Thermo Fisher
