DeVry Unit Launches Online Community - Analyst Blog

Becker Professional Education, a subsidiary of DeVry Education Group Inc. DV, recently introduced an online community called Becker Edge.

Becker Edge offers educational resources and study materials to students appearing for the Certified Public Accountant CPA exam; current Becker students and accounting professionals. Students can also benefit from blogs and tips from Becker experts and instructors. This online forum allows members to interact, post questions and participate in discussions. Students are also allowed to form study groups and share their experiences.  

Becker Professional Education is one of the growth institutions of DeVry and offers career oriented education in the field of accounting, project management and healthcare professions. In fact, Becker Professional Education has reported a 5% year-over-year increase in revenue in the third quarter of fiscal 2014.  

In order to improve enrollment levels, DeVry has been redesigning and reengineering processes across its institutions; introducing electronic course material and providing enhanced academic tools to students to reduce textbook costs; and consolidating administrative offices and campuses to create a leaner long-term cost structure. With the online sharing of study materials under the Becker Edge, the cost of education is likely to decline.  

DeVry University has also been working on its marketing efforts to build brand awareness and improving its technology. The introduction of the online community is a part of these growth strategies. With sharing of information, this online platform will reach out to more students, which can help to improve enrollment levels.
