Forex - USD/JPY down at the end of U.S. session

Forex Pros – The U.S. Dollar was lower against the Japanese Yen on Friday after the release of U.S. data on Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index.


USD/JPY was trading at 80.05, down 0.75% at time of writing.


The pair was likely to find support at 80.01, today’s low, and resistance at 81.06, Wednesday’s high.


Earlier in the day, preliminary data showed that U.S. UoM consumer sentiment fell more-than-expected to a seasonally adjusted 71.8 last month from 74.3 in the preceding month.


Analysts had expected UoM consumer sentiment to fall to 74.0 last month.


Meanwhile, the U.S. Dollar was down against the Euro and the British Pound, with EUR/USD gaining 0.77% to hit 1.4312 and GBP/USD rising 0.24% to hit 1.6194.
