European markets close higher; Dax up 0.69%

Forex Pros – European stocks were up after the closing bell on Friday.


At the close of European trade, Germany’s DAX rose 0.69%, London’s FTSE 100 gained 0.98%, France’s CAC 40 climbed 0.86% and the EURO STOXX 50 was up 0.70%.


Earlier in the day, industry data showed that Pending home sales in the U.S. fell more-than-expected to a seasonally adjusted -11.6% last month from 3.5% in the preceding month whose figure was revised down from 5.1%.


Analysts had expected Pending home sales to fall to -1.0% last month.


Meanwhile, on Wall Street, equity markets were up after the open. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.48%; the S&P 500 index gained 0.51%, while the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 0.44%.
