Nearly two weeks ago, hackers compromised Sony's PlayStation Network servers and caused the downtime that is still going on today. According to Sony, PSN user information like names, passwords, email addresses, phone numbers, and physical addresses were taken in the attack. The company also fears that user credit card information was taken in the attack as well.
Two days ago, we reported that several “underground” credit card trading forums had begun discussing what seems to be a database that is for sale, filled with 2.2 million PSN user credit card numbers. It's unclear whether this database actually exists or if it's just a hoax, but Sony declined to respond when the hackers who have control of the database attempted to sell it back to the company.
Do you think what Sony is offering is enough to win everybody's love for the PlayStation back?
