General Mills Lower After Mixed Q3 Report

General Mills, Inc. GIS shares are trading lower by $0.40 at $59.86 in Tuesday's session. Before the open, the company reported a Q3 EPS beat of a penny along slight miss for sales.

After a lower open, General Mills staged a rally that came within $0.20 of Monday's high ($60.95), reaching $60.75 before reversing course. The ensuing decline took the stock just beyond its opening price ($59.66), but has found intra-day support just below at $59.51.

That marks the lowest level for GIS since it bottomed on February 17 at $58.70. From a longer-term perspective, the stock has been in a six-moth trading range from $58.70-$64.06, with a vast majority of the daily lows surrounding the $60.00 area.

General Mills hasn't closed below $60.00 since February 27, when it ended that session at $59.94.
