ETFs To Watch December 4, 2009 (RKH, GLD, DUG, TUR, TBT)
Here is the ETF Professor's ETF Watchlist for Friday December 4, 2009.
Financials are always in play and definitely will be on Friday due to the jobs number. One to watch is the Regional Bank HOLDRs ETF (AMEX: RKH), which has been trading below its 50-day moving average for almost a month. On the bearish side, try the Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (NYSE: FAZ), which was up more than 5% on Thursday.
Oil names continue to look a tad weak, so check out the Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (NYSE: XLE) and the UltraShort Oil & Gas ProShares (NYSE: DUG).
The iShares MSCI Turkey Investable Market Index (NYSE: TUR), which the ETF Professor recommend as short pick a while back (and that trade worked nicely) has started to rebounded sharply and was one of the best performing emerging markets ETF on Thursday so check it out on Friday.
If investors fly to quality due to the jobs report, watch the Vanguard Value ETF (NYSE: VTV) and the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (NYSE: XLP).
Watch the SPDR Gold Shares (NYSE: GLD) to see if gold can break $1,220.
For a fixed income play, watch the UltraShort 20+ Year Treasury ProShares ETF (NYSE: TBT), which was up more than 2% on Thursday.
