ETFs For Rising Ag Prices (DBA, MOO)
The ETF Professor noticed earlier that CBOT agriculture futures in corn, oats, wheat and soybeans are all up sharply and thought it might be a good idea to find some ETFs to play this trend with.
If you're looking for a pure futures play, try the PowerShares DB Agriculture ETF (NYSE: DBA). DBA holds corn, wheat and other ag futures contracts.
An equity play would be the Market Vectors Agribusiness ETF (NYSE: MOO) or the new Jefferies TR/J CRB Global Agriculture Equity Index Fund (NYSE: CRBA). Both MOO and CRBA hold shares in fertilizer companies like Potash (NYSE: POT), seed makers like Monsanto (NYSE: MON) and farm equipment giant Deere (NYSE: DE).
