Priceline.com (PCLN) gains on summer sales boost

Online travel agency Priceline.com (NASDAQ: PCLN) posted a higher quarterly profit following a spike in bookings during a "strong" summer travel season.

Priceline.com (PCLN) was amongst the early movers on Tuesday, as the stock soared by 17% to $203.05.

Earlier on Monday evening, the company said that its Q3 profit amounted to $319 million, or $6.42 per share, compared with $84.5 million, or $1.74 per share, a year earlier.
