A short review of the market reveals that the time is ripe to find the best values. There are bargains to be had when you buy into solid companies with falling prices. It is also important that these bargain stocks have little debt and huge amounts of cash.
Looking through stocks with good capitalization and decent share prices, it shows that there are some smaller companies that provide good value like Garmin (NASDAQ: GRMN) and Atheros (NASDAQ: ATHR), which shows steep declines compared to the highest prices in the previous 12 months. Atheros stocks were down 77.9% compared to the highest price this year while Garmin stocks were down 72.6% from the previous year’s highs.
Good bargains are not only found in smaller companies but in industry leaders like Schlumberger (NYSE: SLB) and General Electric (NYSE: GE), as well. Both companies show steep declines without rising too high from the bottom prices. General electric dropped 77.9% from the previous year’s highs while being 1.3% above the yearly lows.
