Scotts-Miracle Grow (NYSE: SMG) is one Stock to Watch on Thursday and into the spring.
The MARYSVILLE, Ohio Company, the world's largest marketer of branded consumer lawn and garden products, will participate in the CL King's West Coast Best Ideas Conference on Thursday March 18th in San Francisco, California.
The company participated in the Bank of America and Merrill Lynch Consumer Conference on Wednesday March 10th in New York, New York.
The company's shares closed up .66 or 1.57% to $42.64 on volume just over 280K shares.
The company will feature prominently with MLB Baseball this spring as they introduce the MLB Authentic Collection. Five major league ballpark's fertilizers and seeds will be offered to residents in those geographic regions endorsed by the Head Groundkeeper's of each Ballpark.
The fertilizers and seeds are technologically used at those ballparks and designed for the geographic regions according to Scotts. The five ballparks are: Wrigley Field (Chicago Cubs), Fenway Park (Boston Red Sox), Busch Stadium (St Louis Cardinals), Citizens Bank Park (Philadelphia Phillies) and Great American Ball Park (Cincinnati Reds). The products will be available in early April, according to Scotts.
Look for a continued growth in the stock as a spurt in spring revenue results from both the campaign and usual spring and seasonal buying. Expect institutional and fund buying with both an attractive dividend(1.20%) and upside potential.
