Iconix Brand Group Inc ICON, the apparel and accessories company with brands Candie's, Zoo York, Joe Boxer, Ed Hardy and about 30 other notable names, has had a rocky 2015.

Retreating from over $33 at the start of the year to now around $6.76, the stock has plunged nearly 80 percent.

Early-November news Iconix would need to restate results for the first and second quarters of 2015, as well as the full year 2013 and 2014, capped off the steep decline and sent shares tumbling 57 percent in a single session.

Since then, shares of Iconix have traded in a relatively tight range between $8 and a 52-week low at $5.84.

But the remaining bulls in the name may be getting a few glimmers of hope -- at least on a technical basis -- heading into the first month of 2016.

After breaking below the $6 level to hit the aformentioned 52-week low at $5.34 on December 28, shares have reacted favorably -- importantly, on decent volume.

Shares have rallied nearly 23 percent since that below-$6 low. After an area of major support around $6.10 was regained and held on December 30, the stock has traded more than 8 percent higher on the last trading day of the year, Thursday, December 31.

Bulls in the name will need that important $6.10 level to continue holding heading into the new year. For momentum to continue to the upside, the next level which will need to be breached and held as support is right around $7.
