Fox 2 Detroit Goes One-on-One With Jason Raznick

Following his appearances on CNBC and Fox Business, Jason Raznick, Benzinga's President and co-founder, dropped by Fox 2 in Detroit to discuss the site, the importance of ETFs, and more.

“We bring news, ideas and commentary to the average investor so that they can learn what's going on in the market everyday,” Raznick said. “It's a pretty big operation and we're only about a year old and we continue to grow and add more people.”

When asked who can use the site, Raznick said that pretty much anyone can benefit from Benzinga. “If you go in the morning you'll see what happened overnight,” he said, noting that Benzinga goes into production at 4:30 a.m. – the same time Fox 2 begins its live broadcast.

Raznick also discussed Krispy Kreme KKD, which has received extensive coverage at Benzinga. The donut maker is trading up more than 17% this morning.

However, while some investors may want to buy individual stocks, Raznick realizes that they are not for everyone.

“For a lot of investors it's easier to buy ETFs than individual stocks,” he said, further explaining that if you believe energy prices will rise in a particular category, Benzinga will provide ETFs to play to take advantage of the situation.

When asked about Benzinga's aim to provide scenarios, not direct investment advice, Raznick said that this was a conscious decision. “We made a clear decision – we present scenarios,” he said. “If you think this will happen, here's a way to play it.”
