REITs Showing Strength (IYR, GGP, SPG, VNO)

Real estate investment trusts are strong today, along with an overall higher equities market, and could be worth a short term look here, as it looks like REITs are breaking out here.

Names like General Growth Properties (NYSE: GGP), Vornado Realty (NYSE: VNO), Simon Property (NYSE: SPG) and iShares Dow Jones US Real Estate ETF (NYSE: IYR) are all higher, by 1% or more.

Shares of iShares Dow Jones US Real Estate ETF are up 62 cents to $60.13, shares of GGP are up 20 cents to $15.58, SPG is up $1.07 to $109.44, and VNO is up 92 cents to $91.42, a gain of 1%.
