Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals Could See Continued Interest As A Result Of Its Radiation Cream (CYCC)

Shares of Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: CYCC) have jumped 4.48% on Wednesday to $1.40. Over the last 5 trading sessions, CYCC is up nearly 7%. The company has a radiation cream called Xclair, which could potentially be of some use in Japan. Xclair is "an hydrolipidic cream, with emollient properties, which forms a protective barrier in the cutaneous surface. XCLAIR® is available in pharmacy without prescription."

The drug, "is a medical device class IIa indicated to manage and relieve the itching, burning, and pain experienced with radiation dermatitis." The company, however, does not currently sell the product overseas.

Cyclacel (CYCC) is set to release its quarterly earnings call today after the closing bell. It is possible that they will provide some additional commentary on Xclair, and if there may potentially be an opportunity for this drug in the Japanese market in light of the nuclear crisis.
