Apparently the rumors of Apple AAPL not putting a Near Field Communications (NFC) chip into its next iPhone aren't true.

AppleInsider says that the next version of the iPhone, may in fact have NFC, which would be a huge positive for NXP Semiconductors NXPI, if it's ultimately proven true.

A report by Forbes blogger Elizabeth Woyke today said that Apple may in fact have NFC in its latest version of the popular smart phone, and denied the recent rumor from The Independent, which said that it wouldn't.

According to Woyke, "an entrepreneur who is working on a top-secret NFC project" cited a friend from Apple that the iPhone 5 will have NFC capabilities, which is a boon for the wireless payment industry.

Woyke wrote, "I trust this source and know he has connections in the NFC market because of his own project."

NXP is the largest NFC chip maker around, and as such, should see a huge bump up in shares from this rumor.

The stock has acted very strongly in the past few days, despite the recent market sell off, perhaps suggesting that some people knew something that wasn't reported until just now.

Shares closed at $26.94 yesterday.
