Winning With The Charlie Sheen ETF Portfolio
Charlie Sheen is all about winning these days and the folks over at Wall Street News Network have an interesting Charlie Sheen stock portfolio. Inspired, the ETF Professor thought it would be fun to create a Charlie Sheen ETF Portfolio. Hey, the Professor likes winning, too.
Here goes:
1) PowerShares Dynamic Media ETF (NYSE: PBS):
Home to Time Warner (NYSE: TWX), which owns the studio where 2 and a Half Men is filmed and one of the channels that shows reruns of the hit show, and News Corp. (Nasdaq: NWS) are among the top holdings in PBS.
2) iShares Dow Jones US Consumer Goods Index Fund (NYSE: IYK):
No ETF has a bigger weighting to PepsiCo (NYSE: PEP), maker of that Naked Juice stuff Sheen has been touting on the Web.
3) iPath DJ-UBS Cotton TR Sub-Index ETN (NYSE: BAL):
Follow us here, it's safe to say Hanesbrands (NYSE: HBI) was ahead of the curve in dumping Sheen as a paid endorser of its products last year. Maybe Sheen is mad and now wants cotton prices to rise to crimp the bottom line at Hanesbrands. In its 2007 annual report, the company said every one-cent jump in cotton prices equals $3.3 million in additional raw materials expenses.
4) WisdomTree India Earnings ETF (NYSE: EPI):
In the essence of humor, we're stretching it now. Sheen has "tiger blood" in him and India is home to the world's largest tiger population.
5) iShares Dow Jones US Aerospace & Defense Index Fund (NYSE: ITA):
Sheen once played a pilot, a soldier in Vietnam and a Navy SEAL, making ITA an appropriate pick for this portfolio.
6) Financial Select Sector SPDR (NYSE: XLF):
The Bud Fox pick.
7) Guggenheim Airline ETF (NYSE: FAA):
Bluestar Airlines is not a holding in this ETF.
8) iShares S&P Latin America 40 Index (NYSE: ILF):
For Sheen's love of cigars and those crazy hats that look like they are also worn by cigar makers in Latin America, we include ILF in the portfolio.
