Top Narrow Based Indexes For September 27 (AAI, OPXA, NYNY)
By 12:02 pm, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 25.36 points, or 0.23%, to 10,834.90, while the broader Standard & Poor's 500 index had lost 3.65 points, or 0.32%. The NASDAQ composite index fell 7.09 points, or 0.30%.
Some of the narrow based indexes that are still afloat in the market are Airline Stocks, which have gained 4.2%, Stem Cell Stocks, up 2.2%, and Casino Stocks, moving 1.6% higher as a group.
In Tickerspy's Airline complex, AirTran Airways (NYSE: AAI) had surged 61.1%. Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) has agreed to acquire AAI for around $1.4 billion, or $7.69 per share, representing a 69% premium to AAI's closing price on Friday.
The best performing Tickerspy Stem Cell stock has been Opexa Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ: OPXA), which was up 9.9%. Vista Partners has initiated coverage of OPXA with a target price of $4.40.
Empire Resorts Inc (NASDAQ: NYNY) is today's leading Tickerspy's Casino stock, gaining 11.2%. NYNY has announced its settlement with the noteholders over the proceeding initiated by the company in 2009 in the Supreme Court of New York.
