Electronics Stores: This industry jumped 5.44% by 11:29 am. The top stock within the industry was Best Buy Co (NYSE: BBY), which rose 7.10%. BBY has posted upbeat Q2 profits and lifted its projections for the year.
Silver: This industry rose 5.08% by 11:29 am ET. The top performer in this industry was Coeur d'Alene Mines Corporation (NYSE: CDE), which gained 6.48%. CDE’s exploration program at the Kensington Gold Mine in Alaska is showing favorable results.
Gold: This industry moved up 4.52% by 11:29 am, with Iamgold Corporation (NYSE: IAG) moving up 6.75% to gain the top spot. IAG has appointed Stephen Letwin as its new president and chief executive officer, with effect from November 1.
Major Airlines: The industry, which gained 4.02%, saw Delta Air Lines Inc (NYSE: DAL) as the top gainer. DAL’s shares rose 6.95%. DAL is expecting higher unit revenue for Q3 in view of continued recovery signs in travel demand.
