Who doesn't love saving money? Whether it is saving a few bucks at the pump from low oil prices, making use of coupons and promotions at stores or buying generic and store branded food items that more often than not taste similar to name brands and are cheaper, savings create a plethora of positive feelings.

There is one overlooked area where consumers can save lots of money, however: credit cards. Aside from paying a bill on time and in full, consumers can save money by selecting a credit card that is associated with lower fees.

Some of the fees that credit card companies charge consumers include an annual fee, foreign exchange transaction fee, cash advance fees, over-limit fees and returned payment fees, among others.
