Sony (NYSE: SNE) just announced another digital SLR camera, the Alpha 450, backing up their commitment to be a major force in this industry. This brings their current active line to 7 dSLR models, as stocked by major retailers. The two other major players in the industry, Canon (NYSE: CAJ) and Nikon (TYO:7731), have 7 and 8 actively sold models out in their dSLR line respectively, bringing Sony up to par with their competition.
Technologically, the A450 supports the latest trends in photography, incorporating HDR functionality into the camera hardware itself, as well as the latest sensor technology and in-camera image stabilization options. The camera will be available in the sub-$1000 price range starting in February of 2010. A full press release can be found here.
