One Chart That Shows How Netflix Is Winning The Video Streaming Battle

How people watch movies and TV shows has changes substantially over the years, especially with the rise of Netflix, Inc. NFLX, Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN Video, Hulu and other streaming services. Binge-watching has become one of the most popular ways of consuming media nowadays.

A report issued by Nielsen showed that in the fourth quarter of 2015, 48 percent of households in the US had access to at least one video streaming service. This figure implied a 20 percent year-over-year increase from last year's 40 percent access. Netflix is by far the leader, with a 44 percent household penetration; Amazon video had a 19 percent penetration; Hulu Plus reached 10 percent of households.
