Proof the Government DOES NOT Create Jobs!?

In fact, it actually kills them – 70,000 applicants at a time.
During a four-day server outage last week, the government job website
USAJobs.gov
lost 70,000 applications. That's according to the
Federal Times
(via
Gizmodo
), which reports that many job seekers couldn't even submit a new application while the system was offline. The Health and Human Services Department responded to the mess by saying that the “unscheduled maintenance … was necessary to research, identify and resolve problematic issues reported by users of the system.” On the upside, some government agencies are extending their vacancy periods to give job seekers more time to apply (or reapply, as the case may be). Unfortunately, this might not be the best time for a Presidential hopeful to lead his or her campaign with a big speech about job creation.
