Standard Pacific Corp was incorporated in the State of Delaware in 1991. It has a mortgage financing subsidiary that provided financing to nearly 81% of homebuyers who chose to finance their home purchases during 2013. In addition to being a source of revenues, its mortgage operations benefit its homebuyers and complement its homebuilding operations by offering a dependable source of competitively priced financing, staffed by a team of professionals experienced in the new home purchase process and its sales and escrow procedures, all of which help to make its new home deliveries more predictable. The loans funded by its mortgage subsidiary are generally sold in the secondary mortgage market. The Company competes with numerous other residential construction firms, including large national and regional firms, for customers, land, financing, raw materials, skilled labor and employees. Its homes are marketed through a variety of channels, including through individual communities where new homes are sold by local sales teams.
