General Motors Company was incorporated in 2009 as a Delaware corporation. The Company designs, builds and sell cars, trucks and automobile parts. The Company also provides automotive financing services through General Motors Financial Company, Inc. Its automotive segments include GM North America (GMNA), GM Europe (GME), GM International Operations (GMIO), GM South America (GMSA), and GM Financials. GMNA meets the demands of customers in North America with vehicles developed, manufactured and/or marketed under the Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC brands. The demands of customers outside North America are met with vehicles developed, manufactured and/or marketed under the Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Holden, Opel and Vauxhall brands. It also has equity ownership stakes directly or indirectly in entities through various regional subsidiaries in Asia. These companies design, manufacture and market vehicles under the Baojun, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Jiefang and Wuling brands. The Company purchases raw materials, parts, supplies, energy, freight, transportation and other services from numerous suppliers for use in the manufacture of its products. The raw materials are composed of steel, aluminum, resins, copper, lead and platinum group metals. It is subject to the laws and regulations that require the Company to control, automotive emissions, including vehicle exhaust emission standards, vehicle evaporative emission standards and onboard diagnostic (OBD) system requirements.
