Yamana Gold Inc was continued under the Canada Business Corporations Act by Articles of Continuance dated February 7, 1995. On July 30, 2003, pursuant to Articles of Amendment, the name of the Company was changed from Yamana Resources Inc. to Yamana Gold Inc. The Company is a Canadian-based gold producer with gold production, gold development stage properties, exploration properties, and land positions throughout the Americas including Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Canada. The Company has six core reportable operating segments which include the following mines - Chapada mine in Brazil; El Peñón mine in Chile; Canadian Malartic mine in Canada; Gualcamayo mine in Argentina; Mercedes mine in Mexico; and Brio Gold Inc. The Company competes with numerous other companies and individuals in the search for and the acquisition of attractive precious metal mineral properties.
