Yamana Gold Inc was continued under the Canada Business Corporations Act by Articles of Continuance dated February 7, 1995. On July 30, 2003, pursuant to Articles of Amendment, the name of the Company was changed from Yamana Resources Inc. to Yamana Gold Inc. The Company is a gold producer engaged in gold mining activities including exploration, extraction, processing & reclamation. It has metal properties & land positions throughout the Americas including in Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Mexico and Canada. The Company has five core reportable operating segments which include the following mines: Chapada mine in Brazil, El Peñón mine in Chile, Gualcamayo mine in Argentina, Mercedes mine in Mexico, and Canadian Malartic mine in Canada. The mineral exploration activities of the Company are subject to various laws governing prospecting, development, production, taxes, labour standards and occupational health, mine safety, toxic substances and other matters.
