AcelRx Pharmaceuticals Inc was was incorporated in Delaware on July 13, 2005 as SuRx, Inc. In January 2006, the Company has changed its name to AcelRx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. It is a development stage company. The Company is a specialty pharmaceutical company engaged in the development and commercialization of therapies for the treatment of acute and breakthrough pain. The Company's main product candidate, Zalviso, formerly known as the Sufentanil NanoTab PCA System, or ARX-01, is currently under review by the FDA for marketing approval, and is designed to improve the management of moderate-to-severe acute pain in patients in the hospital setting.
