Twin Prime
wants to make apps run faster. The company (which came out of stealth mode this week) cannot yet reveal its full list of clients, but co-founder and CEO Kartik Chandrayana said the list is significant. "We are working with some of the largest apps and companies in the world, so much so that I'd go out on a limb and say you probably have some of these apps on your phone right now," Chandrayana told Benzinga. One of the few apps that he could talk about is
Frontback
, which allows users to take a photo with both the front and rear cameras and share them in a single image. Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Square and
Twitter IncTWTR
, told
Benzinga
that it was one of his favorite apps in September 2013. Frontback uses Twin Prime to reduce the amount of time it takes for images to load. "When the app became fast, users spent more time in the app," said Chandrayana, adding that 30-second sessions turned into a full minute. "That's the beauty of speed. You can really drive up the engagement."

. His co-founder and CTO, Satish Raghunath, held technical and engineering positions at
Juniper Networks, Inc.JNPR
and Nortel Networks. "If you look at the problem of mobile, it's a universal, global problem," said Chandrayana. "We spend more time on mobile phones than we do on TVs these days. Three hours we spend on mobile, 85 percent of the time is spent on mobile apps, and mobile apps are three times slower than [the] desktop world." When it came out of stealth mode, Twin Prime announced an
oversubscribed
$9.5 million Series A funding round that was led by DFJ and True Ventures. Milliways Ventures and Moment Ventures also participated in the round. "What we want to do with this money is invest a lot in R&D, invest a lot in sales," said Chandrayana. "We want to reach out to different verticals." Disclosure:
