The Los Angeles-are law firm comments on a recent article that the emotional pain and massive financial burdens that can follow an injury collision should be enough to deter anyone from driving unsafely.

LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) October 23, 2019

An October 11 article on Forbes reports on a recent Los Angeles initiative, in the form of a competition, to encourage safer driving on its roads. The cautious winner went home with a check for $20,000 after being dubbed the safest driver of the 11,000+ participants in the contest. Los Angeles-based personal injury firm Legal Defenders at the Law Offices of Burg & Brock says that, with frequent initiatives and public reminders such as the contest, there will hopefully be fewer accidents, particularly injury accidents, in the Greater Los Angeles area. However, it adds that avoiding the mental, physical, emotional, and financial pain of a serious accident should be motivation enough for drivers to be sensible.

The firm says that it routinely deals with those who have been victims of car accidents and too often the conditions that led to a crash are completely avoidable. In Los Angeles, where heavy traffic is a near-constant, drivers may feel the urge to take chances and drive aggressively when traffic clears up to try and make up for lost time; however, every time they choose to do so they risk causing a very dangerous high-speed collision. Legal Defenders says that the only thing that might be worse than aggressive driving is overconfidence in one's abilities to safely navigate Southern California's many roads. Overconfidence, the firm continues, often leads to drivers to either misjudging maneuvers or underestimating the routine dangers that many drivers face daily.

The few seconds saved by either driving too fast or, worse, completely recklessly, are hardly worth the lifetime of guilt and financial cost of accidentally harming—or even killing—another person in a collision, the firm adds. Legal Defenders notes that even a seemingly minor collision can be lethal as even the smallest cars driving at legal speeds can do a great deal of damage – especially to a pedestrian, bicyclist, or motorcycle driver.

Legal Defenders says that by driving safely drivers are not only protecting their own lives and assets but those of others. It only takes one error and a couple of microseconds to forever change the lives of everyone involved in a traffic accident. Remaining patient, especially when, especially when traffic is erratic, will save cautious drivers a lot more than just a few minutes of their time.
