Book reading and signing with "Big Fish" author to support programs of the Alabama Writers' Forum

WHAT: Books-A-Million invites fans to spend an afternoon with author Daniel Wallace on Sunday, September 22 at 2 p.m. The 2019 Harper Lee recipient will hold a book discussion and reading, concluded with a book signing. This event will be held at the DJD Theater located at 800 19th Street North in Birmingham.

An afternoon with author Daniel Wallace in Birmingham celebrates 25 years of literary arts service by the Alabama Writers' Forum, with special recognition of Alabama's award-winning young authors. Wallace will talk about his writing process, his connection to Birmingham and why recognition from his home state sustains his fiction. Following the program, books will be available for sale and signing courtesy of Books-A-Million. The event is co-sponsored by the ASFA Foundation, the ASFA Creative Writing Department and more.

Wallace is the author of six novels. His first book, "Big Fish," was made into a motion picture by Tim Burton in 2003 and a musical version on Broadway in 2013. He is a contributing editor to Garden & Gun and is the J. Ross MacDonald Distinguished Professor of English at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where he teaches and directs the Creative Writing Program.

Tickets are $30 for Alabama Writers' Forum members, $50 for general admission and $125 for VIP with a premium signed and numbered print by Daniel Wallace – all available at bit.ly/DanielWallaceBAM.
