Study Shows Comcast Creates Half-Billion Dollar Impact; Employs Nearly 2,000 in Oregon

Today, Comcast released the findings from a recent economic impact study conducted by ECONorthwest. Comcast's business operations generated $528 million in annual economic impact and directly supported 1,914 jobs in Oregon, as well as 1,221 jobs created indirectly, according to the study. Labor income accounted for $192 million dollars. Comcast employees averaged a total compensation of $57,200 per year. Construction spending supported an additional 1,072 jobs, with a labor income of $54.7 million.

The report used data for 2016 and examined the broad economic effects the company has on Oregon's economy. Those effects come from several sources, including Comcast's business purchases, charitable contributions and capital spending. These sources support additional economic activities in other parts of the state including purchased goods and services from local businesses and spending by Comcast's employees in the regional economy.

Comcast Oregon/SW Washington is also celebrating more than $3.5 million in financial contributions and gift-in-kind donations, as well as thousands of hours of service work by its almost 2,000 employees in the region.
