BC Gaming Industry Association Commends Government's Enhancements to Responsible and Problem Gambling Programs

VANCOUVER, Dec. 15, 2017 /CNW/ - Today, the Government of British Columbia announced that it is significantly increasing support for responsible and problem gambling programs. The changes include increased funding and a new service delivery model that will make prevention and support services easier to access both within and outside of gambling facilities throughout the province.

"The BCGIA applauds the improvements outlined by government today that will ensure British Columbians have better access to information, resources and support. The expansion of the GameSense Advisor Program and provision of additional offsite services are meaningful improvements," said Peter Goudron, Executive Director of the BC Gaming Industry Association.

Members of the BC Gaming Industry Association are committed to providing socially responsible gaming entertainment. Private sector gaming operators in BC play an active role in the delivery of responsible gambling programs in partnership with the BC Lottery Corporation and the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch.
